At Youth Group, we love Jesus, and we love people, and we long to see the youth in Peakhurst, Mortdale, and beyond transformed by the good news of Jesus to the glory of God.
Youth Group is a safe community for young people in Years 6-12 (including youth who have left school!) to encounter Jesus, connect with friends, and have a lot of fun.
We meet every Friday night of school term, 7pm-9pm, at Christ Church Mortdale (110 Morts Road, Mortdale).
We spend time hanging out, eating, playing games, and looking at the Bible to hear what God has to say about stuff that really matter. We also spend some of the night in year groups to catch up, discuss, and pray about things learnt during the night. Each term we spend one or two nights doing something social and fun, such as going on outings. Once a year we spend a weekend away at KYCK (Katoomba Youth Convention)—a conference for high schoolers where over 6,000 youth gather to hear God speak in and through his word (the Bible). Cost: $3, includes supper.
Youth Group is led by the Assistant Minister Dan Tooma and a team of passionate and trained volunteers who love hanging out with teenagers and seeing them mature. The youth are cared for by leaders who are carefully selected and trained. For more information about Youth Group, please contact Dan on 0416 969 957 or [email protected].
SAFE MINISTRY
The Anglican Church in Sydney is serious about keeping youth and young persons safe. All Youth Group leaders and staff complete a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and undergo Safe Ministry Training. For more information on our Safe Ministry practices, click here.
