OUR STORIES

Stories of 2020

2020 has been a year of uncertainty and change - but in it all God is at work. We caught up with members of our church family to see that ways that God has been at work in their lives this year.

john's Story

How long have you been at Church@thepeak?
3 wonderful years

What have you found challenging this year?
Having our last 2 holidays snatched away by bush fires and COVID and managing the ever changing landscape of physical to online church and trying to keep it fresh for people. I also miss greeting people each week as they come through the gate.

What are you thankful for in this time?
  • Seeing people come to faith through our short courses
  •  Seeing lots of people investigate Christianity through our short courses
  • Seeing our volunteers and church leadership work so hard to help online church be successful
  • Having the privilege of working for Stu
  • Seeing people invite their friends and family to church services and short courses.

What opportunities can you see from this time?
We have been truly blessed in the direction we took with church online, while other churches are struggling to work out who is coming to each service, we are not. This means that we will be strong and united in and when we come back. It will also mean that we will be ready to hit the ground running when it comes to mission in our community.

What is your prayer for our church community?
That our church would transition well back into physical church when we get the opportunity, that people will see God’s intended purpose for the church and come back, willingly and ready to hit the ground running, also that no one will be left behind in the transition.
